ACP Embedded Payments

Prev Next

ACP Embedded Payments allows consumers to pay their bill directly within the Bill Explainer (BE) microsite, without being redirected to an external payment page. The payment experience is launched inline as a secure payment widget, enabling consumers to review payment details, select a payment method, and complete the transaction in a single flow.

Note

ACP Embedded Payments is configured per tenant by the CSG delivery team. There is no Studio admin UI for this feature in the 26.1 release. Once enabled, the embedded payment flow activates automatically for all consumer microsites in that tenant. Contact your CSG delivery team to request enablement.

This feature keeps the journey intact by letting consumers choose their bill payment method and pay instantly.

View payment details

On the Bill Explainer (BE) microsite, the embedded payment widget displays the relevant bill payment details for the consumer. This includes the amount due and confirms that the bill is ready for payment. When the consumer is ready to proceed, they click the payment widget (Pay Now) to start the payment flow.

Select a payment method

The consumer is presented with the available CSGI payment methods supported for the account. These typically include:

  • Credit or Debit Card

  • Bank Account (EFT)

The consumer selects their preferred payment method and continues to the next step.

Pay using a credit or Debit Card

When a Credit or Debit Card is selected, and Next is clicked, a secure payment window opens. The consumer is prompted to enter their card and billing details, including:

  • Card number

  • Expiration month and year

  • CVV

Billing information

  • First name and last name

  • Address

  • State

  • Postal code

  • Phone number

Once all required information is entered, the consumer clicks Submit to complete the payment.

Pay using Bank Account (EFT)

When Bank Account (EFT) is selected, and Next is clicked, the consumer is asked to provide their bank account details, including:

  • Routing number

  • Account number

The consumer is also required to enter the same billing information used for card payments. After reviewing the details, the consumer clicks Submit to complete the payment.

Outcome shown inline

After the payment is submitted, the consumer receives immediate feedback within the same experience:

  • Success: A payment confirmation is displayed, and the consumer is returned to the bill view.

  • Failure: A clear error message is displayed, and the consumer can retry the payment.

  • Canceled: If the payment flow is closed or canceled, a neutral cancellation message is displayed, and the consumer is returned to the previous view.

Key Benefits

  • No redirects: Consumers remain on the BE microsite while making a payment.

  • Higher conversion: Reduces drop‑offs caused by context switching to external pages.

  • Secure payments: All sensitive payment details are handled by ACP’s hosted payment experience.

  • Clear outcomes: Consumers receive immediate confirmation of success, failure, or cancellation.

  • Actionable insights: Embedded analytics help measure adoption and payment success.

Use Case

A consumer receives their bill and opens it in the Bill Explainer microsite. After reviewing the bill details and understanding the charges, they are ready to make an immediate payment. Instead of being redirected to another site, they click Pay Now and complete the payment in-line using their preferred payment method.

The Problem

Traditionally, consumers are redirected away from the bill experience to complete payments. This interruption:

  • Breaks trust at the moment the consumer is ready to pay.

  • Introduces friction and unnecessary steps.

  • Increases abandonment during the payment process.

The Solution

ACP Embedded Payments embeds ACP’s hosted payment widget directly into the BE microsite. Consumers can:

  • Launch the payment experience inline.

  • View the correct amount due automatically.

  • Complete payment using secure, supported payment methods.

  • Receive immediate feedback without leaving the page.

Common Issues & Troubleshooting

The payment widget does not load

  • A fallback message is displayed with an option to securely redirect to ACP’s hosted payment page.

  • This ensures the consumer can still complete payment without a dead end.

Payment failed

  • The error message displayed comes directly from ACP.

  • Consumers should review the entered details and retry.

Payment cancelled

  • If the consumer closes or cancels the payment flow, a cancellation message is shown, and no payment is processed.
