Previewing and Sending Test Messages

Prev Next

Xponent Communications Control contains tools to preview your templates and send test messages to see how they render in different email clients and mobile devices.

In order to send a test email, you must first have a saved template and have the proper email template transmission properties set up. This includes defining all variable values you may be using in your template. You do not need email template transmission properties set up to send a test Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS) or Short Message Service (SMS) message.

Perform the following to preview a template and send a test message:

  1. Open a template in Preview or Edit mode. When you open an email template in Preview mode, you can edit the article directly from there by clicking the eye icon. Additionally, the email template transmission properties are displayed on the left side of the Editor.

  2. Click the Send test icon in the upper-right corner of the Editor.

  3. One of the following dialog boxes displays depending on the channel to which your template belongs:

Send a Test Email

Send MMS Test Message

Send SMS Test Message

  1. Type the email address or phone number to send the message. Then click Send Test.
