Overview
The 26.2.1 release introduces a suite of impactful enhancements that strengthen subscription governance, security, and administrative workflows in Batch Communications Engine (BCE). Manage Subscription Configuration provides a centralized and discoverable experience for creating, viewing, deleting, and analyzing subscription usage across campaigns and profiles. Enhanced Security Roles replace the legacy two‑role model with a more granular, cumulative role structure that better aligns access with user responsibilities. Edit Profile subscriptions via Edit Profile enables Admin users to manage profile subscriptions directly within the Edit Profile workflow, with full audit tracking of all changes. Together, these updates reinforce BCE’s commitment to secure, scalable, and user‑centric subscription and profile management.
Manage Subscription Configuration
A new Subscriptions option is available in the BCE’s main navigation, delivering a centralized and discoverable experience for viewing, creating, and deleting subscription records and for analyzing their usage across campaigns and profiles. The Subscriptions page presents records in a paginated table and includes a Find control that supports searching across one or more visible column values. Each record provides an Action column with options to view subscription details or initiate deletion. The subscription detail panel presents key attributes and clearly defined usage metrics. Campaign metrics include the total number of campaigns referencing the subscription and, for the last month, counts of emails attempted and unsubscribed. Profile metrics include the total number of associated profiles and total opt‑outs. A View All option opens an expanded metrics view for deeper analysis. The panel also includes a Subscribe Profile action that navigates users to the Profiles page with the selected subscription already in context. Subscription creation and deletion are restricted to administrator‑level users, and deletion actions are safeguarded by a timed confirmation toast with a 10‑second cancellation window before the subscription is removed in accordance with back-end constraints.
Enhanced Security Roles
BCE introduces enhanced security role management, replacing the previous two‑role model with a more granular, cumulative role structure consisting of Admin, Configurer, Importer, Exporter, and Viewer. All new users are assigned the Viewer role by default, and users with multiple roles receive the combined privileges of all assigned roles. Admins have full access across BCE; Configurers can create, edit, and delete campaigns, segments, and subscription configuration but cannot edit profile records; Importers can import profile data; Exporters can export profile data; and Viewers have read‑only access to campaigns, segments, subscriptions, and profiles. Changes to user role assignments must be requested through the Channel Operations team or the BCE development team.
Edit Profile Subscriptions via Edit Profile
Batch Communications Engine now enables Admin users to manage a profile’s subscriptions directly from the Edit Profile workflow, allowing them to subscribe, re‑subscribe, or unsubscribe profiles from subscriptions while in Edit mode. Each subscription change updates the subscription history and generates an audit event capturing the user, source, timestamp, and change details. This capability is restricted to Admin users only. The Add Subscription overlay displays only subscriptions not already associated with the profile, helping prevent duplicate associations and enabling faster, more accurate subscription selection.
