Billing Content

Billing Content management allows users to customize, review, and publish billing explanations, ensuring clarity and accuracy for customers. With AI-powered tools, users can generate, refine, and update content efficiently. Also, provides facilities to save, publish, and manage different configurations seamlessly.

In the Billing Content section of the Studio module, users can manage and refine the bill explanations before making them available to customers.

Save

The Save feature in Studio ensures that all edits, whether manual updates or AI-generated refinements are securely preserved at any point in the content creation process. The Save and Publish buttons are automatically enabled when any change is made, even a single word. Clicking either button triggers an automatic save along with the creation of a backup for the current content version. This backup system allows Admins to recover previously published versions if needed, ensuring nothing is lost.

The save action updates the backup with draft version number to indicate that the content has been stored successfully, helping users track changes without interruptive pop-ups or notifications. Importantly, the backup process runs silently in the background without disrupting the user workflow, maintaining a smooth and uninterrupted editing experience.

Next to the Save icon, an ellipsis () menu provides additional options for publishing and managing the content efficiently. These options include:

Publish Options

Once all updates to Bill Explainer content are finalized and reviewed by the appropriate team members, users can publish the content. Publishing makes the content available in the live instance of Bill Explainer, ensuring customers can access the latest and most accurate bill explanations.

Note

Only users with the publish permission will see the Publish button active in the Studio.

Users have the flexibility to publish specific configurations separately. Instead of publishing all changes at once, they can selectively publish updates for:

  • Billing Content - Updates related to bill explanations, descriptions, and insights

  • Voice and Tone - Any refinements made to the language style and messaging

  • Visual Branding - Adjustments related to the bill’s design and layout

The publish action also updates the backup and version number, confirming that the latest changes have been successfully published. This seamless feedback helps users verify that their content is live, without relying on pop-ups or alerts.

Get Latest Configuration

This option ensures that users are always working with the most up-to-date version of the bill content and configurations. By selecting it, the latest published changes are retrieved, preventing discrepancies or outdated content from being used during ongoing modifications.

This feature is particularly useful when multiple users collaborate or when users switch between different environments. It helps avoid accidental overwrites or mismatches between local edits and the last published state, ensuring consistency and reducing conflicts.

Create Draft from Published

The Create Draft from Published option allows users with publisher permissions to start fresh by copying the last published version into a new draft.

Note

This action will overwrite any unsaved changes in the current draft by replacing it with a new draft based on the latest published version.

This is especially useful when your current draft contains unwanted or outdated changes. When selected, it replaces the existing draft with the published configuration, ensuring a clean and reliable starting point. This feature helps teams reset their work quickly without needing to manually revert edits, reducing the risk of carrying forward unwanted modifications.

Version history is maintained, and all unsaved changes will be permanently lost, so it’s best used when you’re confident in discarding the current draft.

To proceed, click Create Draft. This will overwrite the current draft with a fresh copy of the published version.

Rollback

The Rollback feature lets you revert the live (published) configuration to the previously published version. This action creates a new published version (For Example: V+1) based on the prior one,  the rollback itself is a publish event with version tracking.

This is useful if a recent publish introduced errors or did not perform as expected. Rolling back restores the previous published version backup, helping teams recover from mistakes without needing to manually undo every change. This feature maintains version tracking and clearly communicates the impact. It offers a safety net for managing live updates with confidence.

Note

After confirmation, any unsaved changes will be lost, and the system will immediately reflect the rollback.

To proceed, acknowledge the changes and click Rollback. This will restore the previously published configuration backup and replace the current version.

By using these features, users can effectively manage, review, and publish bill content while ensuring customers receive the most accurate and well-structured explanations for their invoices.

Pages, on the other hand, define how users navigate their bills, with the Landing Page offering a quick overview of essential details and What Changed? providing a side-by-side comparison of billing updates. For a deeper understanding of how Widgets and Pages contribute to the overall Bill Explainer experience, refer to their respective sections.
