# Listeners

Listeners enable seamless data ingestion and event-driven processing within a graph-based system. They act as connectors that continuously monitor various data sources. Also, it captures and processes incoming data in real-time or at scheduled intervals.

Listeners ensure that graphs remain responsive to changes. They fetch, queue, and deliver data efficiently. They work with batch sources, databases, message queues, and streaming platforms. Xponent supports the following types of listeners.
