This promotes rule reusability, ensures consistency, and minimizes manual rework during ingestion. Since published rules can impact live instances, it is important to review them carefully before publishing. On the Data Mapping Editor, click the **Vertical Ellipsis** (⋮) next to the Save button. 2. Select **Publish Data Mapping** from the dropdown. A confirmation dialog will appear. Confirm that all updates are correct before proceeding. 3. To enable the **Publish Mapping** button, you must check the acknowledgment box confirming the changes. Click **Publish Mapping** to make the version live. If you are publishing to a production instance, ensure that all updates are final and thoroughly validated. This step may impact live bill explanations if incorrect rules are published, so it is critical to review changes carefully before proceeding. > ![Information](https://cdn.document360.io/c578bb14-e570-4b6e-93ed-f6c5b8a2d8a1/Images/Documentation/Information.png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-10-26T14%3A16%3A53Z&se=2026-10-26T15%3A16%3A53Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=ELhQ2VQvJLzhVOR9OaYqMSpB92UaX62Tlsv0%2BRSh6EM%3D) > > For batch-based ingestion, the changes will apply in the next scheduled processing cycle unless the current cycle is reprocessed.Information panel ![](https://cdn.document360.io/c578bb14-e570-4b6e-93ed-f6c5b8a2d8a1/Images/Documentation/2025-05-13_22-48-15.png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-10-26T14%3A16%3A53Z&se=2026-10-26T15%3A16%3A53Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=ELhQ2VQvJLzhVOR9OaYqMSpB92UaX62Tlsv0%2BRSh6EM%3D) ### Benefits - Promotes reuse of rules, saving time and effort. - Maintains consistency across datasets. - Tracks versions to monitor changes and evolution over time. Version history is directly visible to users, allowing them to review past edits. If needed, users can [roll back](https://xponent-knowledge-base.document360.io/docs/bill-content-management#rollback) to a previous version. - Provides control over deployment through selective publishing. - Streamlines dataset setup for faster implementation.
