The Value Mapping feature lets you assign a fixed value to a Bill Explainer variable without linking it to a source path in the XML file. Use this when the value is always the same, so you can skip mapping it from the uploaded data. Instead of mapping the variable to source path from the XML file, you can directly define a consistent value that should always be applied.
This is especially helpful in cases where certain information remains constant across all records or environments and doesn not need to be extracted dynamically. Common examples include:
Country: United States, United Kingdom, India depending on the client’s target region.
Currency: INR for Indian Rupees, USD for US Dollars, etc.
Language: English, Spanish, German, etc.
You can perform Value Mapping directly in the Data Mapping screen, alongside other mapping methods like Source Path Mapping. This reinforces that all mapping approaches are accessible in one place, providing flexibility during configuration.
Here, Admins can see a list of Bill Explainer variables that need to be mapped.
To begin, hover over the variable you wish to map. A + Mapping button will appear next to it. Click the + Mapping button to open the mapping window, where you can search for and select a pre-defined value from the list.
Search and select the value from the list, the system will automatically apply it to every bill that uses this mapping.
