An Interaction Type defines an action taken by a consumer in a physical channel. Each Interaction Type defines the channel in which they occur and the individual engagement score for that Interaction Type. Once an interaction type is defined, you can select it in a dropdown menu via the Save Interaction Node.
An example of the types of Interaction you can create:

Add an Interaction Type
To add an interaction type, navigate to the Project Settings tab and click on "Profile Metadata". In a new project, this page will be blank, and you can add an interaction type by clicking on the Add Interaction Type button.
This will pull up a dialogue box where you will get to input an Interaction Name, Description for the interaction, Channel where this interaction will be recorded, and Engagement Score.

Definitions:
Interaction Name: This should ideally be the type of interaction you are trying to record. For Example: Email Open
Description: This describes the interaction type in more detail. For Example: The email is opened
Channel: This describes the channel in which the interaction is being recorded. For Example: Email
Engagement Score: This is how much this particular interaction is worth to the business. The Engagement Score represents how valuable a specific interaction is to your business. It allows you to assign a numeric score between 1 and 100 to different types of interactions based on how strongly they indicate user interest or intent.
A higher score reflects a more meaningful or goal-oriented interaction (such as a purchase), while a lower score might represent a lighter engagement (such as opening an email or viewing a product).
The engagement score must be a numeric value.
The total list of interaction types and the engagement score do not need to add up to 100 points. For Example:
Interaction Type
Engagement Score
Email Open
4
Product Added to Cart
25
Purchase Completed
50
If the Channel dropdown does not already have any of the channels you would like to use, you can click on the Add Channel to define a specific channel name.

Add a Channel
An Interaction represents an action taken by a customer through a physical or digital channel, such as a website visit, email click, social platform post, or call. Each Interaction Type is linked to the channel where it occurs, so adding a channel is a mandatory step when creating a new interaction type.
A channel defines the source or platform where the interaction is recorded. This could be anything from a social platform, Email, SMS, or a Website.
Within the dialog box, locate the Channel section. This is where you specify the platform or source of the interaction, such as Email, Website, Mobile, Call Center, or other channels.
In the Name field, type the name of the channel you want to add. Make sure the name identifies the platform or source of interaction.
Once you have entered the name, click on the Add Channel button. The channel will be listed and made available.
Now channel will appear in the Channel dropdown menu within the same dialog box. Select the related channel from the list. Before saving the interaction type, you must select a valid channel from the dropdown.
Selecting a channel for creating the interaction type is mandatory.
