Current-State Analytics (CSA) is a powerful feature in Xponent that allows users to upload and analyze historical, event-based data before any journeys or graphs are built. Instead of waiting for new interactions to be collected through orchestration, CSA enables teams to leverage existing data to understand how customers have behaved in the past.
This historical data can be mapped to Journey Steps, Interactions, and Identifiers, giving users a clear picture of current customer behavior across channels. Once mapped, this data is transformed and made visible in the Journey Discovery Analytics Dashboard, enabling meaningful insights without impacting live production environments.
In addition, CSA makes the process more efficient by allowing teams to reuse mappings from earlier uploads. Instead of starting from scratch each time, you can select a previously saved mapping and apply it to new files. This not only speeds up the setup but also ensures greater consistency in how data is structured and analyzed across different uploads.

Prerequisites
Before configuring a Segment Listener, ensure the following prerequisites are met:
Pre-Production Environment: A dedicated environment must be created and selected as the Pre-Production Analytics Environment.
Channels: All Channels used in the upload file must be pre-created under Interaction Types at the Project level.
Identifiers: All Identifiers used in the upload file must be pre-created at the Organization level for reuse across projects.
File Preparation: A clean CSV or Parquet file (≤1GB) must be ready, containing the required columns: Events, Channels, Identifiers, and Timestamps in ISO 8601 format with a time zone.
Best Practices
The Save and Continue button appears only after the required fields are completed.
For Example: Event mapping - For the selected Event field, you must also define the related values (Event Type and Event Name). The Description is automatically filled once these values are provided, and the Save and Continue button becomes available.
Use the manual Save option to regularly save your progress, especially when working with a large number of fields or when switching tasks. This ensures you can return and continue from the latest saved state.
If you choose to include specific channels or events, all fields for those selected rows must be filled out. Fields can remain blank only for rows that are excluded from processing.
Xponent automatically logs you out after 30 minutes of inactivity. To avoid losing progress, always use Save and Continue before stepping away.
Leverage saved mappings to save time on future uploads. Once you have set up a mapping, you can reuse it across files to ensure consistency and reduce repetitive configuration.
Save Checkpoints and Progress
To help you avoid losing work, Xponent allows you to save your progress during the data upload and mapping process.
Save Progress
You can manually save your in‑progress changes at any time within a step using the Save option available in the top‑right corner of the page, without completing all required fields. Initially, the Save icon appears greyed out.
Once you make any changes in the CSA step, the status next to the Save icon updates to Unsaved, indicating that changes are ready to be saved.
After you save your changes, the system displays a timestamp next to the Save icon that shows the time of the most recent successful save, in 24‑hour format.
Progress is also saved when you click Save and Continue, which becomes available once all required fields in the step are completed.
Existing Save Checkpoints
In addition to manual saves, progress is saved at the following checkpoints:
File Upload: Once the file is uploaded, it is automatically saved.
Cancel Import
When you click Cancel, a confirmation message is displayed to ensure you do not lose work by mistake. Canceling the import will delete the uploaded file, any saved mappings, and all progress made so far.
Choose Close to dismiss the message and continue working on the import, or choose Yes, Cancel Import to cancel the import and permanently discard all associated data.
