The Segments feature in the Batch Communications Engine (BCE) lets you group profiles that share common attributes or behaviors. You then reuse these segments across campaigns so that each campaign targets the right audience.
Sign in to the BCE application, select the Segments icon (the connected nodes/network icon) from the left navigation bar, and the Segments list page opens.

The Segments summary tile (right side) shows the following:
Total number of segments. For example, Total 13
Status based counts on hover. For example, 4 Active and 2 Unused
Select + Create New Segment to create a new segment.
Search Segments
Use the Search box to enter a segment name or description and dynamically filter the Segments list, displaying only matching results in the table.
(For example, “Users with balance above 1300”)
When you enter a segment name in the Search box, an X (clear) icon appears that lets you clear the search and reset the Segments list.

The Segments list displays a scrollable table that includes the following key elements:
Name: The segment’s display name.
Description: A short explanation of which profiles belong to the segment.
Created Date: The date and time when the segment was created.

Edit, or Delete a Segment
Locate the segment you want to review in the table.
Click anywhere on the segment’s row.
Confirm that the row is selected and a segment details panel opens beside the table.

At the bottom of the segment details panel, review the bottom toolbar:
Delete button (trash-can icon) on the left.
Add to Campaign button in the center.
Edit button on the right.
How to Edit a Segment
When the segment is linked only to campaigns that are not yet launched or are stopped, the Edit button is enabled (active).
When a campaign that uses the segment has been launched and is running, the Edit button is disabled and appears greyed out .
In the Segment details section select Edit to modify the segment.
The Segment Name, Prompt and the Description fields become editable.
Update the Segment Name, Prompt used to define the segment and the Description (Use prompt as segment description toggle is turned off, so that the description can be edited independently of the prompt).
Click Cancel to undo the changes or click Save to update the changes on the Segment.

How to Delete a Segment
The availability of the Delete button depends on the campaign status associated with the segment.
Before any linked campaign is launched, the Delete button remains active and you can delete the segment.
When a campaign that uses the segment is launched and running, the Delete button is disabled and you cannot delete the segment.
If a campaign using the segment is stopped, the Delete button becomes active again, allowing you to delete the segment.
Select the Delete button (trash-can icon) on the bottom toolbar.
The Segment – Confirm Deletion modal opens with Cancel and Delete options.
This action is permanent. The segment will be removed and no longer available in the system.
Click Cancel to close the modal and keep the segment unchanged or click Delete to proceed with deleting the segment.
After you select Delete the modal briefly displays a Segment deleting state while the system processes the request.
The modal closes automatically when deletion completes.

A toast message appears, for example Segment <segment name> deleted, confirming that the delete action was successful.
Select the X icon to dismiss the toast message, or wait for it to close automatically.
Verify that the deleted segment is removed from the Segments list and no longer appears as a selectable segment for future campaigns.
Add to Campaign
After you successfully create a segment, the Add to Campaign button appears.
Click Add to Campaign.
The Campaign page opens.
Create a campaign to link the segment to the campaign’s audience definition.
You can also create a new Campaign directly from the Campaigns screen and select the Segment as part of creating the Campaign.
