Xponent Communications Control April 2026 (26.2.2) Release Notes

Prev Next

Overview

This 26.2.2 release of Xponent Communications Control (XCC) covers Template ‘Returned’ Workflow State and RCS Messaging (Function Type) - Dial Phone, providing improvements across template workflows and RCS messaging to enhance usability and recipient interaction. Updates to the template review process improve visibility and collaboration between authors and reviewers, while new RCS capabilities expand message interactivity by enabling direct call actions from messages. Together, these enhancements streamline template management and support more engaging communication experiences.

  • Template ‘Returned’ Workflow State

Introduced an enhanced ‘Returned’ status in the template workflow, enabling reviewers to move templates back to draft with prominent visual cues. Returned drafts are clearly highlighted in both the template list and preview so authors can quickly pinpoint items that require updates, and the indicator is automatically cleared once the template is resubmitted for review. This improvement increases transparency in the template review cycle and strengthens collaboration between template authors and reviewers.

  • RCS Messaging (Function Type) - Dial Phone

A new Dial Phone action is now available in RCS message templates, allowing recipients to initiate a phone call directly from Card Suggestions (buttons) or Message Suggestions. Authors can configure a US-based target phone number in the RCS editor and see a call icon in both the editor and preview, clearly indicating that the action will trigger a call. This feature enhances interactivity and supports common RCS use cases, such as customer callbacks or service hotlines.

Bug Fixes

  • Bug 1127645- Fixed an issue where RCS messages containing Dial Phone function (via Message Suggestions or Card Suggestions) failed to reach recipient devices. The issue occurred due to an incorrect phone number format being sent downstream. Phone numbers are now sent in the required raw format, ensuring RCS messages with Dial Phone functions are delivered successfully.

  • Bug 992121- Fixed an issue where CSG Admin and Client Admin users could not view templates on the landing page unless explicitly assigned as admins for those templates. Admin users can now view and manage all templates across channels, as expected based on their role permissions.

  • Bug 1121417- Fixed an issue where RCS Text templates were stored and sent as escaped JSON, causing end users to see raw JSON content instead of rendered messages. XCC now correctly normalizes and de‑structures RCS text templates before storing them, exposing them via the Template API, and sending them through XVM, ensuring recipients receive properly rendered RCS text messages.
