Journey Completion Rate

Prev Next

The Journey Completion Rate card highlights the journeys with the lowest completion percentages in the last 30 days.

Low completion rates often indicate drop-offs, blockers, or unnecessary friction preventing users from reaching the final step. This card is useful for:

  • Detecting underperforming journeys

  • Pinpointing where end-to-end flows fail most frequently

  • Prioritizing optimization efforts for maximum conversion impact

The card supports three views: Focused, Detailed, and Contextual.

Focused View

The Focused View displays the single journey with the lowest completion rate in the last 30 days. It displays:

  • Journey Name - The name of the journey with the lowest completion percentage

  • Profiles - Number of unique users who completed the journey compared to the total who started it (completed/started)

  • Percentage - Journey completion percentage

For Example: First Buy - New User - 3/4 profiles - 75.00%

This means that out of 4 users who started this journey, only 3 reached the final step.

Detailed view

The Detailed View shows a ranked list of journeys so you can compare completion performance across multiple flows. It displays:

  • Journey Name - The name of the journey with the lowest completion percentage

  • Profiles - Number of unique users who completed the journey compared to the total who started it (completed/started)

  • Percentage - Journey completion percentage

Journey Order

  • Journeys are displayed in descending order from bottom to top, starting with the highest completion rate at the bottom and moving toward the lowest completion rates at the top.

  • This ensures that the lowest-performing journeys are easily identified at the top.

Contextual View

The Contextual View explains the significance of the lowest completion rate in simple language, making it accessible to all audiences. It displays a narrative message that dynamically updates with the journey name and completion percentage.

For Example: Low completion rates may point to drop-off or blockers. The lowest is on First Buy - New User, with only 75.00% of users completing the journey. We calculate this as the percentage of unique users who reached the final step of a journey, out of all who started it.

Note

In the UI, First Buy - New User and 75.00% are dynamic fields that change based on the data.

Key Points to Remember

  • This is the only Journey Insight Card that works at the journey level instead of the step level.

  • A low completion rate means users are abandoning the flow before reaching the final step.

  • The Detailed View helps you compare completion performance across journeys to prioritize fixes.

  • The Contextual View makes the insight easy to communicate to teams that don’t work directly with data.

  • Combining this card with Step Stall Rate and Step Repeat Rate can help identify where in the journey users are dropping off.
