Simple Text

Switching from Rich Card to Simple Text converts the template from a media-rich layout to plain text. The behavior differs based on whether the Rich Card has existing content.

• Navigate to Studio → Templates and select your RCS template.

• On the left panel, under Content, you’ll see three options:
  Simple | Rich Card | Carousel.

• Click Simple to initiate the conversion.

Convert Rich Card (without Image) to Simple Text

• Enter your message in the text editor. You can include:

  Plain text and add Message Suggestions.

• Monitor the character count in the footer (limit: 2000 characters).

• Review the preview panel on the right hand side to ensure proper formatting and link visibility.

• Click Save to save the template.

• Click Submit to save or publish the message.

Convert Rich Card (with Image) to Simple Text

• If the Rich Card has content, a confirmation popup appears with the message:

  

  Convert Rich Card to Simple message

  Current Rich Card content will be converted to a Simple message. This can’t be undone. Text, links, and variables will remain.

  ⚠ You’ll lose

  Images, buttons and suggested replies.

• Click Cancel to keep Rich Card format or click Convert to proceed with conversion and permanently discard Rich Card elements.

• If the Rich Card is empty, no popup appears and conversion happens instantly.

• The system removes Image/Video, Title.

• The editor displays a single text field for the Simple message.

• The preview updates to show a plain text message.

• The footer resets, and both payload and media size are set to zero.

• Text, links, and variables remain after conversion.

• Images, suggested actions, are lost permanently.

• Enter your message in the text box and ensure it meets the new character limit.

• Review the preview panel on the right hand side to ensure proper formatting and link visibility.

• Click Save to save the template.

• Click Submit in the top-right corner to save or publish the changes.

Character Limit and Tooltip Behavior in RCS Simple Text Editor

• Character limit almost reached

  2,900 / 2000 → Yellow warning icon and tooltip appear.

  Tooltip message: “Text Length Recommendation

  Keep text under 80 characters for optimal readability.”

• Character limit reached

  2000 /2000 → Red icon and tooltip appear; input disabled. Test Send is disabled until the content is reduced.

  Tooltip message: “Character limit reached

  This field supports a maximum of 2000 characters to maintain RCS compatibility.”
