Warnings

Prev Next

The Warnings section allows you to configure and manage important messages displayed to users in the application. These warnings help communicate critical information, notifications, or contextual messages related to billing and payment behavior.

  • Click on an individual warning to expand it and view or update its configuration. When you open a warning, any previously expanded warnings automatically collapse, helping you focus on one configuration at a time.

  • Click Warnings to expand the section. Once expanded, it displays warning features, each with a toggle to enable or disable the warning as needed. All configured warnings appear in the application based on their settings.

Payment Plan

The Payment Plan warning is a system‑driven warning designed to inform users when a flexible payment plan applies to their account. This warning is preconfigured and includes specific controls that ensure accuracy and consistency.

Flag

The Payment Plan flag is system‑driven and enabled by default. This flag cannot be modified or disabled, as it is required for the correct display of payment plan–related warnings.

Category

The Category field determines how the warning is styled and presented. You can select one of the following options from the dropdown:

  • Warning

  • Information

  • Notification

Each category appears differently in the preview panel, using a distinct color and icon to visually indicate its purpose.

Individual Display

For the Payment Plan Individual Display, it is a system‑driven configuration and cannot be disabled. This ensures that the Payment Plan warning is always shown independently, not merged with other warnings.

Iconography

The Iconography toggle controls whether an icon is shown alongside the warning title.

  • Enabled by default

  • When disabled, only the warning title is displayed, and the icon is removed from the warning panel

Title

The Title field allows you to define the warning title shown to users. For Example: Payment Plan

  • Here you can enter custom text

  • Also, you can insert system variables from the dropdown, if required

Labels

The Labels section allows you to customize the field labels displayed within the Payment Plan warning. These labels can be modified to match your organization’s terminology or user preferences. Common labels include:

  • Amount Financed: Amount Financed

  • Inst. Amount: Installment amount

  • Installments: Total number of installments

  • Inst. Remaining: Remaining installments

  • Start Date: Payment plan start date

  • Projected End: Expected completion date

Payments History

The Payments History section displays a summary of past payments made under the active Flexible Payment Plan. It helps users understand how their payments have progressed over time and how much of the plan has already been completed

  • Label: Define the text displayed for the payment history section in the warning panel. For Example: Payment History

  • Description: Enter the message shown to the customer regarding their payment history. This field supports Hyperlink, Variables (Select a variable from the dropdown). For Example: You have missed Missed Count payments. Please review your recent payment activity.

Amnesty Discount

The Amnesty Discount feature highlights when an amnesty or special discount has already been applied to the customer’s balance. This warning proactively informs customers about the applied concessions and avoids confusion during payment discussions.

  • Label: Define the label that appears in the warning panel. For Example: Amnesty Discount

  • Description: Provide a short message explaining the amnesty status. You can include hyperlinks or variables if required. For Example: Your amnesty discount has already been applied to your outstanding balance.

Creating Custom Warnings

  • To create a custom warning, click the Add + button. Enter the warning name and click the tick mark icon to confirm and create the custom warning.

  • To cancel the process, click the X icon. Once the custom warning is created, the toggle is enabled by default, allowing the warning to be configured and displayed immediately.

Managing Custom Warnings

  • To rename or delete a custom warning, hover over the warning name. A vertical three‑dot (ellipsis) icon appears.

  • Click the ellipsis to open the options menu, which includes Rename and Delete actions.

  • Selecting Rename allows you to update the warning name. After editing, click the tick icon to save the changes.

  • When Delete is selected, the custom warning is removed and marked with a Deleted status.

  • An Undo option is displayed alongside it. Clicking Undo reverses the delete action, restoring the warning and displaying it again.

Custom Warnings

Custom Warnings allow you to create flexible, business‑specific warnings that are driven by configured system flags. These warnings can be tailored to different scenarios and displayed dynamically based on customer data.

Flag

A flag is a system‑defined condition that determines when a warning is shown to a customer. Flags are evaluated whenever a new statement is processed for the consumer. When a flag condition is met based on the latest statement data, the associated warning becomes eligible to be displayed.

For Example: The All Customers Past Due Balance flag is triggered when a customer has an outstanding past‑due amount on their account.

Category

The Category setting uses the same configuration options as the Payment Plan section.

Individual Display

The Individual Display option controls how the warning appears in relation to other warnings. When this option is enabled, the warning is displayed as a standalone message and is not merged with any other warnings.

When disabled, the warning will be merged with other non‑individual warnings and will be displayed at the bottom of the notification panel. Warnings that have Individual Display enabled also appear in the reorder list, allowing you to control their sequence. For Example:

  • Scenario 1: Individual Display is enabled for all warnings, so each warning appears as a separate, standalone message.

  • Scenario 2: Individual Display is disabled for the Welcome warning, causing it to merge with other non‑individual warnings instead of appearing on its own.

  • Scenario 3: Individual Display is disabled for both Installment Due and Welcome, resulting in these warnings being merged and shown together as a single expanded warning.

  • Scenario 4: The expanded view shows how warnings with Individual Display disabled are grouped, while warnings with Individual Display enabled remain separate.

Iconography

The Iconography setting allows you to control whether an icon is displayed alongside the warning. When this option is enabled, an icon appears in the warning panel. Disabling it removes the icon while keeping the warning content visible. This option is enabled by default.

Title and Description

In the Title field, enter the text that appears as the warning heading. You can also insert available variables from the dropdown to dynamically populate the title. For Example, Welcome.

The Description field allows you to define the main message shown to the customer. Variables can be used to personalize the content based on customer data. For Example, Welcome to Bill Explainer!.

Start and End Date

The Start Date defines when the warning becomes active. You can select a date using the calendar icon or enter the date manually.

The End Date defines when the warning stops being displayed. You can select the date from the calendar or enter it manually. To keep the warning active without an end date, click the Infinity icon next to the calendar.

Reorder Individual Warnings

The Reorder Individual Warnings section allows you to control the display sequence of warnings that have Individual Display enabled. All individual warnings are listed along with their enabled or disabled status.

  • To change the order, click and drag a warning up or down as needed.

  • Drop the warning in the desired position to update the sequence.

The updated order is reflected immediately in the preview panel for all enabled warnings, ensuring the final displayed warning order matches your configuration.
