Overview
This Release‑on‑Demand update delivers RCS Editor quick wins, including Added Informational Popup, Updated Orientation Label, Card and Message Suggestions Dropdown with Upcoming RCS Actions, Renamed Action Button Text Field, and Updated RCS Editor Terminology, to improve UI clarity and guidance during RCS test sends.
Added Informational Popup for Reply Actions Across iOS and Android
An informational popup has been added for Reply action types in both Card Suggestions and Message Suggestions to clarify how replies behave on different devices. The side panel now explains that on Apple iOS devices replies always appear at the message level, while on Android they may appear closer to the originating card, and includes a preview modal with side‑by‑side iOS and Android examples. This helps authors understand where replies will appear, set accurate expectations for RCS test sends, and more easily design Reply‑based RCS experiences across platforms.
Continuous Improvements
Updated Orientation Label
The Orientation label in the RCS configuration has been updated to Card Orientation to more clearly describe that this setting controls the visual layout of Rich Cards (whether cards appear in a horizontal or in a vertical layout). This makes the behavior of the setting more intuitive, reduces ambiguity during template configuration, and helps users more quickly achieve the desired card layout in their RCS campaigns.
Renamed Action Button Text Field
In both Card Suggestion and Message Suggestion configurations, the secondary action field has been renamed from Text to Payload Text to better reflect its role. Users now use Button Text for the visible label and Payload Text for the value returned with the action (such as an ID or keyword). This clearly separates what the customer sees from what the system receives, reducing configuration errors and making RCS journeys easier to understand and maintain.
Card and Message Suggestions Dropdown with Upcoming RCS Actions
Updated the Card Suggestions and Message Suggestions dropdown to display available and upcoming RCS action types. Users can select Open URL and Reply, while additional actions such as Dial Phone, Show Location, Request Location, and Create Calendar Event are now visible as ‘Coming Soon’, providing a preview of future functionality.
Updated RCS Editor Terminology
The RCS editor terminology has been updated to make suggestion types clearer and more descriptive. The former Suggested Actions are now labeled Card Suggestions, and Suggested Replies are now labeled Message Suggestions. These new names align directly with how suggestions behave in the channel: Card Suggestions represent tappable actions associated with a card, while Message Suggestions represent quick reply options at the message level.
Bug Fixes
BUG 721943- In Rich Communication Services (RCS) templates pressing Tab in the Button Text field opened the emoji picker and cleared the entered text. Focus now correctly moves to the URL Link field without losing content.
