Overview
The 26.2.1 release of Xponent Communications Control (XCC) delivers targeted enhancements across RCS and SMS to improve conversational design, template review efficiency, and message flexibility. This release introduces RCS Text Messages with Message Suggestions to support more guided, text‑first interactions, adds RCS Template Thumbnail on Hover to streamline template identification and review, and expands messaging flexibility through Extended SMS Character Support for exceptional long‑form use cases.
RCS Text Messages with Message Suggestions
Authors can now configure Message Suggestions directly within RCS Text Message templates. Message Suggestions appear as clickable buttons beneath the text message and help guide recipients towards clear next actions without requiring Rich Cards.
Message Suggestions support Open URL and Reply actions, with up to 11 suggestions allowed, in accordance with Infobip specifications. This enhancement enables authors to design guided, conversational RCS experiences using lightweight, text‑first templates while maintaining simplicity in message authoring.
RCS Template Thumbnail on Hover
The RCS templates list view now includes thumbnail previews on hover, aligning the RCS authoring experience with Email, SMS, and MMS templates. Users can hover over a template to view a visual preview across all template states, including Draft, In Review, Approved, and Active.
This enhancement allows teams to quickly validate template visuals, identify the correct template, and detect layout issues without opening each template individually, reducing friction during review and QA cycles.
Extended SMS Character Support
XCC now supports extended SMS messages of up to 2,500 characters for specific EU and client-approved use cases where longer SMS content is explicitly required and cannot be constrained to standard limits of 160 characters. This capability is intended for exceptional scenarios only and is not a general recommendation for SMS messaging.
Bug Fixes
Bug 1049677- An issue has been fixed where the Preview Variables widget did not update correctly after an auto‑discovered variable was manually deleted from the editor across all channels, including Email, RCS, SMS, and MMS. Previously, the widget continued to display the deleted variable or remained visible when no valid variables existed, resulting in an inconsistent preview experience.
With this fix, the Preview Variables widget now automatically detects when an auto‑discovered variable is removed and updates accordingly by removing the corresponding entry or hiding the widget when no preview variables remain.
